The program provides an iron and vitamin-fortified orange juice drink to schoolchildren in public elementary schools in areas where anemia from iron deficiency is prevalent. The beverage was developed in partnership with the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology and is given daily to the pupils for 120 days. Over 100,000 schoolchildren have participated in the NutriJuice iron supplementation program since it was launched in 2007.
